HBA were granted planning to add an extra floor to this prominent Seifert-designed office building in Kensington.

HBA were instructed following previous refusals and were praised by RBKC planners for the 'sympathetic' and 'sensitive' design response.

The building is characterised by angular, zig-zag brick detailing that is also expressed in full-height glazed slots around the core.

The new floor takes this strong architectural language and adds a contemporary twist to it, with angular, metal-clad bays that provide access to a wrap-around roof terrace.

The new sixth floor is linked internally to the existing fifth floor where existing castellated downstand beams are being exposed and new servicing and ductwork is being set out around 2no. new linking stairs.

The scheme also involves recladding the main core in new zinc cladding and reconfiguring the main entrance, with a new feature canopy and improved hard and soft landscaping.
