HBA have extended and refurbished this double-fronted office building, set within the narrow cobbled streets along the eastern boundary of the Smithfields Conservation Area
Relocated rooftop plant and a switch to natural ventilation for the offices has allowed a new rooftop extension to create a stunning duplex office space. Large, loft-style rooflights maximise natural daylight and a central mezzanine creates dramatic double-height spaces.
The typical office floors are naturally ventilated and the concrete frame is exposed to maximise ceiling heights with a central timber-slatted raft concealing services
The lower ground floor has been combined with the ground floor with new structural openings allowing natural daylight and views.
BCO-standard bike storage and showers have also been added in the lower ground floor with a dedicated access from Middle St.
